Project Overview

DM Villa is a contemporary waterfront residence conceived as a composed, light-filled sanctuary within Banana Island’s premier enclave. Set on over 1,200sqm with direct eastern views toward the Lekki–Ikoyi Bridge, the home is defined by architectural clarity, subtle material layering, and seamless spatial continuity. Every key space is oriented to engage the water, light, and landscape—allowing opulence to feel natural, effortless, and enduring.

Client Brief

The clients envisioned a refined yet welcoming family home—one that balanced architectural precision with emotional warmth, and serve as a statement of timeless elegance. They sought a residence that felt richly grounded, authentic and deeply connected to its waterfront setting, while offering clearly articulated zones for living, entertaining, and retreat.

They wanted:

Our Approach

We approached DM Villa as a study in balance—between openness and intimacy, quiet contemporary maximalism and effortlessness, architecture and atmosphere. The design language was intentionally restrained whilst remaining bold, allowing proportion, light, materiality and nuanced spatial theatrics to carry the narrative while elevating the everyday experience of waterfront living.

Design interpretation and materiality

Intepretation of brief and client’s needs into a design that both celebrated and pushed the boundaries of possibilities. Curating a generally natural palette for both colours and textures, we explored exotic stones, bespoke furniture, rich timber, eccentrically finished leather and hand woven fabric textures, and an elegant juxtaposition of soft neutral tones with bold eccentric colours.

DM Villa is fast emerging as a calm yet confident expression of modern island living. The residence seamlessly integrates architecture, interiors, and landscape—anchored by expansive waterfront views captured from the primary suite and garden level.
